Each of the 15 Messenger Bags in the Freitag Reference Collection has its own individual style and a rich history.  Each bag’s tarp has a rich heritage.  They were used when delivering a message meant getting your bag and riding your horse to deliver news and not getting on your bike and racing through the city.  The collection was inspired by the military and civilian messengers of the 1800′s.  The shapes, the buckles and the unicolored look of the tarps are all classic to the bone.
